Lucky Dog Contest

Pets, like people, need a place to feel safe; a place where they can let their guard down, where they don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Many pets have been neglected or abused when they enter a shelter, and heroes like you who adopt and foster get them out of a stressful, loud shelter and into a loving home. When you foster or adopt a dog, you aren’t just saving a life…you are making that dog the luckiest dog in the world! We asked you why your dog is lucky… over 1,000 of you responded, voting is complete, and the winners are here!

Become Fluent in Fido Foster

Pets, like people, need a place to feel safe; a place where they can let their guard down, where they don’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Many pets have been neglected or abused when they enter a shelter, and foster heroes like you make it possible for them to spend their time waiting for a forever family in a loving home versus a stressful, loud shelter. Best of all, foster families can play a crucial role in helping find forever homes for the pets in their care.

While all homeless pets can benefit from a foster family, stressed dogs, nursing moms, motherless puppies, sick and injured dogs who need medical recovery, shy dogs, and dogs displaced by emergencies need the most help in most shelters. By joining the #FidoFoster movement you can save some of the most vulnerable pets’ lives in this country.

Here, new fido fosters or adopters can find resources they needed to train and care for dogs, and shelters can get resources to set up a successful fido foster program and recruit fosters. We’ll give you tips and tricks from industry experts, including animal behavior expert Andrea Arden, award-winning photographer Seth Casteel, and vet consultant Dr. Sarah Dodd.
